Capitol Hill tote bags on sale for green cause
January 18, 2010
By the Voice
Tote bags designed through a project to educate Capitol Hill students about plastic bag pollution in the Anacostia River are now available, according to a release from the CHAMPS, Capitol Hill’s Chamber of Commerce.

The bags feature artwork from each of the 17 schools that participated in the lessons, led by the Capitol Hill Green Schools Initiative. Along with CHAMPS, The Capitol Hill Community Foundation and Signal Financial Federal Credit Union funded the project.

The bags cost $8 and are available at Michael Anthony Salon, Marvelous Market Capitol Hill and Hill’s Kitchen. Proceeds will go toward the production of more bags and will fund future projects of the Green Schools Initiative.
